Elderberry BBQ Sauce

This Elderberry BBQ sauce is a fun twist on a much-loved classic! Our Elderberry Jelly from Peculiar Preserves compliments BBQ sauce heavy-hitters; Ketchup, Worchester sauce, and Dijon Mustard.
Though you'd be hard-pressed to find many barbeque enthusiasts swearing by Elderberry Jelly, it is not to be dismissed! Balanced with fruity and floral notes, it's a jelly worthy of charcuterie boards, sandwiches, and yes, even BBQ sauce. Elderberry is packed with vitamins and antioxidants, making it an incredible immune-boosting accoutrement to carry us through the last weeks of Winter.
We have a whole lot of love for our pork chops (frankly, we often eat them sans sauce). But this BBQ sauce is deserving of such a premium cut of meat!
Ingredients

1 jar of Peculiar Preserves Elderberry Jelly (4 oz)
1/4 cup Ketchup
2 Tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
1 Tbsp Worchester Sauce
1 tsp Dijon Mustard
1 packet Duncan Farms Dry Rub (2 Tbsp)
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
Directions
Combine ingredients in a saucepan over a medium heat. Bring to a simmer, then lower heat.
Continue simmering while stirring often, until the sauce begins to thicken. Usually 12-15 mins.

This recipe pairs fantastically with our pork chops! Cook your pork chops how you like best, or follow our tried-and-true pork chop recipe here. Finish it for the last 5 minutes of cook time with this sauce.
You can also use this on top of our Homestyle Meatloaf, made with ground beef or ground pork.
*As this is a sweet BBQ sauce, we generally recommend it with either pork or chicken.
