PROTEINS THIS WEEK
You will receive one dozen pasture raised eggs. Pasture-raised means they are free to roam and forage for grass and bugs, and are supplemented with a balanced feed for a robust diet. Compared to factory eggs, pasture-raised eggs have more vitamin A, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamin E.
Eggs are a staple for most of our workers, we all love them! Our workers come up with some great cooking ideas, like this easy egg souffle omelet.
You will receive 1 package of our hickory smoked bacon. From pasture raised hogs, our processor hand rubs each slab, without added nitrates. Rubbed with a dry cure made of salt and sugar, then slow smoked for a delicious smoked taste.
An easy breakfast favorite, we love to add it to salad for lunch or dinner. Try it this week in a salad with our peach melba vinaigrette dressing recipe.
You will receive 1 package of ground beef. Our 1lb packages are from pasture raised, grass fed cattle. A kitchen staple our ground beef tends to be more lean than most.
We love hearing from our customers about their favorite recipes. If you have a family fav way to cook ground beef we would love for you to share it so we can put it in our farm fresh recipe page.
LOCAL ARTISAN GOOD HIGHLIGHT
You will receive 1 jar of Peach Melba Jam made by Peculiar Preserves for Duncan Farms. Peculiar Preserves is a small craft food company creating and crafting micro batch jams, jellies, and preserves that highlight unique flavor profiles.
Peach Melba is a traditional dish made of peaches, raspberries and vanilla ice cream. Fresh local summer peaches have been simmered with raspberries and vanilla and turned into a jam.
While it's great over ice cream, in pastries, or spread over toast, we think it's a perfect pairing to turn into a vinaigrette to go with your bacon, salad this week.
You will receive a combination of any of the following seasonal farm fresh produce this week
We are a beyond organic, permaculture farm and availability may change by the time we send you your CSA . We strive to provide you with what we have planned this week, but if something changes, we will upload this change before you receive your CSA. We send out only top quality produce, but due to our zero chemical policy, a little marring may occur on products. These vegetables/fruit are still beautiful and delicious.
THIS WEEK'S FARMERS CHOICE
Great for snacking, pickling or adding to a salad for a refreshing, spicy crispiness. Summer radish will have a bolder flavor due to warm temperatures.
How to store: Trim off greens and roots, put trimmed radishes in a sealed container with water and keep in the fridge.
