Homestyle Chili with a Twist

A cup of strong coffee and the addition of cocoa powder really makes this chili shine. 

2 tablespoons of oil
1 large onion, chopped
3 cloves of garlic, minced 
l lb of Duncan Farms Ground Beef
1 package of Duncan Farms Beef for kebabs or 1lb of sirloin cut into cubes
1, 14 oz can of diced tomatoes 
3 1/2 cups of beef broth 
1 cup of coffee
2, 6 oz cans of tomato paste 
3 1/2 tablespoons of chili powder

1 tablespoon of cumin 
1 tablespoon of cocoa powder
1 teaspoon of oregano 
1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper 
1 teaspoon of salt 
2 cans , 15 oz kidney beans, rinsed
2 cans, 15 oz pinto beans, rinsed

optional: 3-4 fresh hot chilis seeded and chopped if you like it spicy

Heat oil in a large sauce pot. Add onion, garlic and meat and cook until browned. 
Add tomatoes, coffee, broth, and tomato paste. 
Add all spices, and one can of each kidney and pinto beans
( add hot chilis here if you would like).

Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour and 30 minutes. 
Add the remaining kidney beans and cook for an additional 30 minutes or until thickened.
