The trick to a really good meatloaf is having lean ground beef. Without it, you end up with a greasy loaf of meat. The milk and tomato jam/ketchup help keep this meatloaf moist and delicious.
1lb of Duncan Farms Extra Lean Ground Beef
1 cup of breadcrumbs
1/2 cup diced onion
1/2 cup of milk
1 Duncan Farms Egg
2 tbsps. of ketchup
1 tbsp. of Worcestershire sauce
3/4 tsp. of salt
1/2 tsp of garlic powder
optional: Duncan Farms Tomato Jam or extra ketchup as a glaze
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, add the beef, breadcrumbs, onion, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt and pepper and mix well.
Put meat mixture into a loaf pan and pat down in an even layer.
Bake uncovered for 40 minutes. Take out of the oven and spread a thin layer of Duncan Farms Tomato Jam or ketchup over entire surface of meatloaf. Cook an additional 15 minutes, for a total cook time of 55 minutes.
Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before serving.
